González (Tulane U.) and Nepomechie (Florida International U.) present some 100 contributions from related 2004 conferences on architecture and technology. The session topics of the "Enclaves Amidst Technology" conference include native technologies in architecture; native technologies amidst modernity; green architecture; sustainable architecture; extreme environments; the design build movement; and integration in design, construction, and operation of buildings. The other conference, which proposes the two- way flow of physical and cultural currents between archipelagos and their mainlands as a metaphor for contemporary architectural production, includes sessions on architecture and landscape, architecture and media, community culture and identity, faculty design, history and historiography, practice and pedagogy, and tourism. The text does not describe the contents of the CD-ROM, but it presumably reproduces the contents of the book in electronic form.
