This slender volume is a catalog of the American Society of Marine Artists' 2004 exhibition at Vero Beach Museum of Art. American artist's have painted the sea, ports, and ships since colonial times. Contemporary artists in this exhibition use pencil, watercolor, acrylic paint, pastel, pen & ink, bronze, stainless steel, scrimshaw, etching, and most of all, oil paint, to portray maritime subjects.
