Russian Arctic archaeologist Khlobystin (1931-88) reports results from field work in the Taymyr Peninsula on the north coast of Russia, between 1967 and 1981. He covers climate, environment, and the initial colonizations of the Eurasian Arctic; the Taymyr neolithic; the early bronze age; the early iron age and the medieval period; and early economic and social development.
