Three seasoned American legal practitioners present an updated American Law Institute-American Bar Association text aimed primarily at providing beginning associates with the insights they need to successfully begin their professional careers. The text describes what clients and more experienced attorneys in the firm or in corporate legal departments expect from new attorneys. The third edition has been updated to reflect new developments in the practice of law and the structure of law firms, including discussion of the protocols in the use of electronic communication tools. It also features generalized guidelines for support staff-usage issues, and new chapters on the expectations that supervisors in a corporate legal department, and clients in the corporations, have of their lawyers.
