Southerners at rest; confederate dead at Hollywood cemetery.
Ferguson, an expert in the cemetery, has painstakingly reconstructed the records of those interred, deciphering errors in records made in the rush to bury wagon-loads of dead soldiers during the war. He provides the names (as best reconstructed in some cases), regiment, birth date, date of death, burial sport and commentary when available on cause of death, family contacts, or even the name of his college. Ferguson lists nearly 12,000 soldiers and officials and even offers over one hundred photographs of men who died Confederates and were buried in Richmond. (Annotation ©2008 Book News Inc.
