The engrossed entrepreneurial campus; what our economy and our academy need now.
In this collaborative effort with four other American academics, Stevenson (Jackson State U.) explores ways to encourage imaginative, creative, investigative and entrepreneurial thinking in higher education. The text opens with a brief discussion of recent experiences regarding terrorism and natural disasters in the U.S. followed by an exploration of the need for higher education to review its original purpose through a renaissance of new "engrossed entrepreneurial" campuses to stimulate new thought across all college curricula. It closes with suggestions for certain thematic tenets, process activities, learning objectives and exemplifying demonstrables to serve as a foundation for a conceptual framework for curriculum planning, development and implementation for the future. For faculty, students, and academic administrators interested in changing the way American campuses work. (Annotation ©2008 Book News Inc. Portland, OR)
