The first edition seems to have appeared in 2007, and this second incorporates articles that reflect the ever-widening range of business ventures by First Nations, Inuit, and Métis involving First Nation resources, sometimes in a tradition manner, but more often for a business purpose. Among the topics are the Lockean basis of Iroquoian land ownership, traditional knowledge and Euro-Canadian governance processes in northern land-claim boards, policy recommendations for responding to climate change in Nunavit, non-timber forest products and aboriginal traditional knowledge, the harvest of Beluga whales in Canada's Western Arctic, the need to reduce the risk of unsafe drinking water in First Nations communities, aboriginal rights to fish in British Columbia, corporations and aboriginal people and the Mackenzie Valley Pipeline, and the Diavik Diamond Mine as an example of aboriginal partnerships in Canada.
