Solution-focused counseling in schools, 2d ed.
Murphy (psychology and counseling, U. of Central Arkansas) presents school counselors with solution-based interview and counseling techniques to help students from preschool to high school overcome school problems. Topics include example vignettes and consider ways to build on the client's other resources, reframe the problem in a more solvable light, alter responses to small parts of the problem to achieve results, and determine when and how to end counseling. Appendices contain relevant exercises and surveys. This book's first edition only covered middle and high school strategies; this one has been significantly revised. (Annotation ©2008 Book News Inc.
