Aquatic stewardship education in theory and practice.
The Society symposium held in Anchorage, Alaska in September 2005 focuses on organizing the current thinking about how to define, foster, and evaluate desirable aquatic stewardship behaviors, and how to develop the educational programs and other motivating forces underlying such behaviors. Researchers, educators, and fishery practitioners consider such topics as environmental communications for aquatic stewardship, the past and potential role of the Society in fostering stewardship, and the influence of angler value orientations on fisheries stewardship norms.
