Rail enthusiasts will welcome the reprinting (with updating by Ritchie) of this classic history by Lavallée (originally published in 1972). Published in an oversized format (9x12.25 inches), the volume is filled with historic and current photos of trains and rails of narrow gauge across Canada. Ritchie's revision is limited to updating references for the railways discussed in the original text (he has not added further rail lines) and the addition of many new photos.
